Janet - antibiotic therapy doesn't always work with H.pylori. Yes, H.pylori is spread through saliva... and on hands that have contact with saliva as well. Your husband should also be tested. Take the time to re-read Sharon's post and the links contributed to it from the Conference Room. The mastic gum is a highly effective method of eliminating H.pylori. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Those working in the area of vitamin D research and therapy report that this SAD incidence coincides exactly as we begin to receive diminished sunlight in late fall and thru the winter. Once again, it's important to know your vitamin D level via the 25 OH D test. They recommend 70-80 as optimal for health and to prevent symptoms like SAD etc. including the carb cravings, lethargy etc. Jaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Gregg - My thinking has always been that during an afib event, the heart needs all the help it can get and by supplying more of the nutrients it requires, can only help. Of course, it helps me mentally as well. It just makes sense, though. When I view video clips of an open heart surgery with a heart beating in fibrillation, it just makes me want to cry to see a heart in such turmoil. So I feby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom - good idea... go very slowly...it takes time to saturate the cells without causing the bowel issues during the process. If you go slowly enough, you'll find that you may be able to get to 1000 mg or more....just keep going very slowly. Let us know your results. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - sorry - I should have said... added more at the onset. Yes, I did then and still do take the three daily plus others. I just added more at the onset thinking it would be an assist for the laboring heart. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tom - most influential is undoubtedly a magnesium deficiency inside the cells... heart (AF) ears (tinnitus)... if you haven't optimized your IC stores of magnesium, it would be good to begin. In time and with diligence, you may correct both conditions with a very inexpensive essential mineral/electrolyte. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - when in AF, the blood is churning in the left atrium and the risk of clot is directly dependent on blood viscosity. To quote the nattokinase expert, Ralph Holsworth, DO: He says "churn cream, you get butter - churn blood, you get a clot." For this reason, blood viscosity becomes an important issue and many suggest using aspirin because of the anti-platelet aggregation feature. Hansby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Louise - you can go to these sites and type in your herbals and compare with drug interactions. I always like to check at least two references just to be sure. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Julia - yes, keep going up very slowly. The idea is to allow your body to very slowly acclimate and accept the magnesium. If you push too fast, you'll get a more dramatic bowel reaction. Going slowly and then the main indicator would be two soft bowel movements daily. This should indicate cellular saturation.... going very slowly over a period of time is the way to proceed. Han - It's a great report but it probably attributed to the antioxidant portion of the combo product with both the tocopherol and tocopherol of that Carlson's brand... which I note is probably this one? Cat - if you haven't gotten into the restorative part of the intracellular electrolytes, you may want to do that before considering the cardioversion. I had one early on in my afib career and it lasted for quite a few years. I've since learned that when my intracellular levels of magnesium and potassium get low, I can develop afib again even though I have had a successful ablation 6 yby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Chris - I am not sure that you really need to 'lower' vagal tone during the evening as typically, going too low is what sets off afib. I had a similar problem... vagal... and the afib occurred during the wee hours of the morning. Darcy - during my afib journey, I used the Bp cuff regularly with no adverse effects. The problem for me was that the beat was so erratic and the HR was so high, it often caused an 'error' reading on the monitor. I soon decided that since typically my HR and Bp were always significantly elevated taking the measurement only made me more anxious. However, your diastolic reading ofby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jane - about this time last year, there was information published about problems with the generic metoprolol. I don't recall exactly what properties of the drug were affected, but if you take the generic and it doesn't work, it may be worth trying the brand name Toprol XL. Tom - as a quick response... two things come to mind about tinnitus... first is connected to a magnesium deficiency and second, microcirculation. Do a google search for magnesium tinnitus and tinnitus ginkgo biloba. Since you are on an afib forum, your heart also needs magnesium to help stabilize the rhythm so you may find magnesium helps both. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
