Barry - your success speaks to blood glucose handling issues. I'm really glad you landed on a solution. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - sure - either cut in half or take every other day. Must be a run on zinc for the upcoming flu season!!! Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
<; Nick - the Acetyl L Carnitine works mainly for brain function. While I use that (expensive) in small doses, I use either the propionyl, fumerate or tartrate forms for the other dose. I like to rotate. Can't say as I notice much difference physically, but the propionyl is said to be very good for the heart. I'm using this one now and I seem to feel energized on it not longby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve - I think it's far too premature for you to be concerned over an elevated heart rate only 8 days post ablation. The heart remains in a state of irritability for 6 - 8 weeks post ablation during the healing process. Since you asked: Previous to my (Natale) PVI, my resting heart rate was around 62-65. Post ablation, my rate was high 70's...maybe even somewhat higher for almosby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lance - No - those aren't chelates but rather compounds composed of various ligands attached to magnesium. Go here and read more at the Albion site about true chelates. Technically, what is a chelate? Chelate is a specific term identifying a type of bond between an inorganic mineral atom and an attached molecule structure referred to as a ligand. As you learned in Vitamins, Minerals, Chelaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - The Carlson's should be fine... the chelated versions are superior to other forms and Albion's patents have stood the test of time. Since this is a slightly higher dose of 30 mg - consider taking it 5 days rather than 7 to keep the weekly intake around a similar equivalency of 20 mg a week... 20 x 7 = 1400 and 5 x 30 = 1500. Close enough. Starting on the low side is alwayby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hello Lance - I'm very pleased for your excellent experiene in CA with Dr. Natale and Dr. Hongo. Glad you were able to make that connection. Take it easy during your recovery and keep us posted on your progress. Now you can start Living with Passion in NSR... once again. Best to you, Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Carol - potassium supplements. Hawthorn also lowers HR. Vitamin K2-MK7 helps reduce arterial stiffness which would then help lower HR. Avoiding the typical foods that cause intolerances such as wheat gluten and dairy casein proteins will also help lower HR because the majority of individuals have some degree of sensitivity to these proteins.... a sensitivity elevates HR. Neal - do you know your intracellular levels of magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium? This becomes essential for keeping afib under control. Consider getting the Exatest. (www.exatest.com) After that, you'll know if you need to supplement or not. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sean - I should have also mentioned that the advantages of a good Omega 3 fish oil - the DHA portion - also helps with brain function. It is possible to buy just the DHA and that's something you might consider if you don't already take Omega 3 fish oil on a daily basis. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Margaret.... most likely, your potassium stores have fallen. Remember when you eat a banana, while the potassium content is listed as high, it is also a relatively high glycemic food - (fruit sugar) and requires potassium utilization to metabolize it through insulin production, so you may not be getting all the potassium you think you are. I'd start adding another 100 mg of potassium tby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Claudia - yes - thanks to Joy (I believe) she posted Dr. Blaylock's contribution to this whole thing. Hat's off to these doctors who are bringing enlightenment to the public. I've been tuned in regularly to webinars by Dr. Eisenstein and guests. There is much to learn that isn't out there for public knowledge so I'm keeping my "ear to the ground." Sean - You may consider trying Ginkgo biloba for memory enhancement - providing that you re not taking wafarin/Coumadin. I've used Ginkgo for years for memory and always felt during my afib years that it was doubly beneficial due to its blood thinning properties as well. I especially like the Natural Factors brand because of their strict Canadian manufacturing standards. Purity is imporby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
One product I didn't know about at the time I was having afib was d-ribose. I used to take extra magnesium, potassium, taurine, CoQ10 and nattokinase and before that, aspirin, at the onset thinking that I'd give my heart all it needed for help. With my breakthrough AF post ablation, I was given the PIP directive and use Toprol and Flecainide at the onset. Converts within an hour....by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg - those two products are sold only through professional offices... you can check some local chiropractic offices to see if they handle. Usually, they'll sell without an appointment. Not so with the typical medical office. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Margaret - sorry - I neglected to note your location. Absent the Exatest evaluation, why not assume you are low in magnesium and potassium and start with low doses gradually to see if there is improvement. I had breakthrough AF 3 and 4 years post ablation and once I increased the magnesium, potassium, taurine, CoQ10 and ribose, I've stabilized and have had no further breakthrough issues.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I've not read that PS helps with arrhythmia. It is good for the brain, as you say. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I used flecainide with a beta blocker and without. Better success for me without because I was vagal. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sam - I have a lot of personal experience using oil of oregano. It's a very strong and powerful oil. Even in the capsule designed to not break down in stomach acid, the odor of oregano is strong right in the bottle. There is a difference in the enteric coating, itself. Cheaper versions use petroleum; better brands use a beeswax formulation. I typically use the North American Herb and Spby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
On the wine for reservatrol question... you can't possibly (safely) drink enough wine to cover what you'd get in the concentration of 200 mg resveratrol supplement. I think that the higher concentrations of the supplement versions are going to be expensive to get the full 200 mg recommended. The lower doses certainly will certainly contribute some benefit. Jackie From the previous post:by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ivan - no - just have the test to see where you are now. Going off for a few days or a week would not have a profound effect on what's inside the cell. Remember, the goal is to correct the source/cause of the high blood pressure... the drugs may control it during that process, but what you want to do is eliminate or reverse what causes it in the first place. Drugs don't do that. Jaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Margaret - how much of each nutrient are you taking? Could you consider getting the Exatest to determine intracellular levels of electrolytes? Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
US wont use additives that enhance flu vaccine I dont know if this news made it to your local paper, but heres what ours says: Looks like all the clamoring about the use adverse and unknown effects of adjuvants has, at least for now, caused a shift in the thinking. Hans - Gregg and all - until you get into high doses of zinc - and we are not talking about high dose with 20 - 30 milligrams, the toxicity of zinc doesn't become an issue....nor does a copper imbalance. Adding supplemental zinc is useful for a number of benefits including boosting immunity, but one has to be cautious with supplemental copper because it's much more prevalent in as an environby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ivan - the most important consideration is knowing what your intracellular levels are of the critical electrolytes... magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium. The gold standard for IC measurement is through Exatest. (www.exatest.com). Ivan - you may need more potassium than you currently use. If you haven't read the posts on the book on High Blood Pressure Solution by Richard Moore, MD, PhD... do a search here and find the link. The other thought is that if you have arterial stiffness, then look to vitamin K2 in the form of menaquinone 7 to start pulling calcium out of the blood vessels and reduce the stiffness. Chris - the poitn is tht many people think they have an over-production of stomach acid when in reality, they are really lacking enough stomach acid. The food doesn't get broken down; it lies in the stomach and putrifies causing the GERD symptoms etc. The articles I've referenced indicate the solution is not to take something that blocks stomach acid, but rather to use digestive enzymeby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
