Thanks George - We , too, have a compounding pharmacy here locally... if all else fails, I'll go that route.... unless they are out of the raw materials which could also be a factor. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Joyce - I do choose to mostly avoid the brassicas and other goitrogens. The downside is that many also inhibit cancer growth so they are healthy foods. It's a balancing act. I'm not totally worried yet as I've progressed from taking 60 mg daily down to 15 mg every other day with the aid of thyroid support nutrients. Earl - be very careful of two full-dose aspirin daily.... the risk for stomach and intestinal ulcerations and hemorrhage is great with aspirin especially in high doses.... not to mention the hemorrhagic stroke risk. I'd say taurine works almost immediately.... depending on whether or not your intracellular stores are optimal or not... if your electrolyte ratios are out of balance, then taurine's effectiveness will be severely limited and you'd come away saying "I tried taurine and it didn't work for me." If there are marginal amounts to direct in and out, then the effect wonby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Nick - I suspect that you have a bug of some type... or you have a huge Candida overgrowth that responds almost immediately to any starchy/carb food. If you can get some GSE (grapefruit seed extract) locally - it's a thick liquid in a squeeze bottle... start taking dosages according to the label immediately... you add it to water or juice. It tastes terribly bitter but it works. It'by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Here's my situation. I called where I get my Rx filled thru mail away... CVS Caremark. Asked if they had Armour? No. What else did they have? No to NatureThroid... but they did have Westhroid. I called my doctor's office to have them fax the Rx to them and left town. I came back to voice mail from Caremark asking me to call them. Reason: They have no Westhroid. Martin - yes in a couple of ways. Among other things, taurine stimulates detoxification. Taurine directs flow in and out of cells and helps maintainsthe relaxing, non-excitatory electrolytes(magnesium and potassium). Magnesium helps blunt the effects of excess glutamates. Heres the original post on Taurine and why it helps us plus follow up links <> What About Taurine? <> An update 2008by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thom - while it's a given that age can be a factor in increased risk of stroke and MI, the elderly often are at higher risk from hemorrhage because old blood vessels become weak and leaky unless nutritional interventions are recommended....and they seldom are by conventional medicine MDs. Josiah - Definitely not the same. Glutamate is actually a neurotransmitter that is needed in the body but in regulated amounts. When we consume glutamate and 'free glutamates' from food in quantities that are in excess of what's needed and tolerable in the the body, that's when glutamates become excitotoxic to cells. At the MSG truths website, they list sources of free glutamates and fromby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Thom - typically the 100 mg equates to 2000 FUs. If you email me the link to the product you bought, I'll try to verify that, but they are all pretty typical. I'd just reduce the aspirin to the equivalent "baby aspirin" dose of 81 mg... if you feel you need the extra insurance of the aspirin. Aspirin destroys platelets. Al - Sorry. I thought it was in the links I provided. Make sure the labeling of the ribose product you buy indicates that 1 teaspoon equals 5 grams of ribose. The dosing is 5 grams twice a day. Thom - while you can use a small amount of aspirin with NK, it may not be necessary. The warning is that when combining the two, the aspirin may cause nose bleeds. So be forewarned and cut back on the aspirin if this happens. NK, itself, will not cause nosebleeds or any other adverse bleeding effect. This is timely because I just experienced that effect.
