Liz - from that book quote: "Omega-6/Omega-3 acids (approx. a 4:1 omega-6/omega-3) provides the body with the essential fatty acids necessary to reduce inflammation." There are many, many who disagree about that ratio. Each expert has his own opinion and hopefully it is based on both experience with patient outcomes as well as study trials. Sharon - your doctor may not know that even in the sunny areas of the country like Florida, vitamin D deficiency is high because the 'elderly' don't get out in the sun for just the reasons you mention and even if they did, it seems that even if you manage to soak up the rays, the skin may lose the ability to convert to useful vitamin D in the body. Wes - I suggest you order Hans' Thrombosis and Stroke Prevention' book right now so you can understand the various clotting mechanisms. Asprin works on one mechanism, nattokinase, on another, coumadin on another, etc. Small doses of aspirin seem to be well-tolerated by most people. Sharon - I agree with what Tony observes, but I also know that sometimes the patient has both afib and flutter (that they didnt' know they had) and ablation for the afib just unmasks the presence of flutter. In the case of Lynn (San Diego), she had to have a second ablation to take care of the flutter. I seem to recall there have been a few others that have had a similar experience. You are wise, Susan, to investigate anything that would interact with all the drugs you take. So then, rather than the curcumin, Id recommend my favorite, nattokinase, which will not have any interaction with any of your drugs unless one is Coumadin and even then, nattokinase can be taken with medical supervision. That, plus the food and supplement list below as recommended by Dr. Blaylock.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Liz - sure - as I said - it works for you. Something obviously missing in your biochemistry that wasn't helped by the fish oil, but is helped by EPO... that's great. Liz Glad that works for you without causing ectopy. EPO has benefits- just not quite the same as Omega 3s which directly offer up the EPA/DHA benefits but can be complementary to them; but if you cant tolerate the fish oil, then you dont have options. Pam - how much magnesium glycinate did you take at a time? If you are experiencing diarrhea from small amounts, you may not need extra magnesium. When starting out with magnesium or any supplement, the dosage should be small at first...like 200 mg. once a day and then ramp up another 200 after 4 - 5 days if all sits well. I agree about the age factor and taking coumadin. Also if there is risk of bumping one's head during sports events, the coumadin would be a concern to me as well.
