Hans - I agree with keeping the ratio 1:1 on the Ca/Mg content but it's often not possible when the multi has a heavy weighting on the calcium. Then I try to get the Mg up by adding it separately to equal the Ca but with some people that's not possible... esp. if there's too much Ca to begin with. The other issue is the form of either the Ca or the Mg. Often the Ca is the wortby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes - thanks Hans - when I had my bout, I used lysine in fairly high doses which may have helped potentiate the Famvir. Don't know, but I do know that later, when I tried using arginine after George Eby's post, I noted some tingling sensations at the shingle sites on my upper back and taking lysine calmed that down almost immediately. As I recall, I took 2,000 mg. at a time for a fewby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Most likely, no afibbers will be consuming the diet supplement product, Total Body Formula Tropical Orange and Peach Nectar flavors, or Total Body Mega Formula Orange/Tangerine flavor... but it's worth being aware of this problem. Both products are distributed by Total Body Essential Nutrition of Atlanta and are available in 32-oz. bottles, while Total Body Formula is also sold in 8-oz.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
John - coffee is the most heavily treated food substance - pesticides, fungicides etc. Organic coffee processed by the Swiss water method eliminates the use of chemicals and you get just pure coffee. As long as you aren't bothered by the caffeine - if it doesn't make you jittery - you can probably continue to enjoy coffee. You have to realize that exercise increases the amount of free radicals generated (oxidative stress) which is highly irritating to newly burned heart tissue. After ablation, the heart is in a high state of irritabity for 6 - 8 weeks until the scars/burns are totally healed. I can't imagine why you would think it is sensible to do heavy exercise while your heart is still healing. Jackiby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hans - there are better and healtier sources for potassium than a baked potato which is just pure starchy carb/glucose and will work against adding potassium in the long run when you consider metabolism. And, Susan - yes, I'd watch the calcium content in any multivitamin because typically, they are higher in calcium ratio to magnesium provided and many people get in trouble with multiby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jennifer, resveratrol has many accolades on benefits and good brands are equivalent to drinking something like 20 glasses of red wine. I've used resveratrol for several years. Claudia - it's often said that extreme stress will bring out shingles if one has the virus lurking (formerly having had chicken pox). Perhaps your stressful events were the driver of shingles. Once again, people with the hemochromatosis gene variant are obviously restricted in using vitamin C in elevated doses. Directions for high-dose vitamin C usually say to work up to bowel tolerance as that typically becomes an issue and for that reason it is used as a system flush or cleanse.
