Saliva is a indicator of emotional influences. If you are anxious, angry, etc... your saliva pH will be acidic.... so they say.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Josiah - time will tell about who's correct on with mercury issues and the impact on health. Some say it's fundamental in the origin of arrhythmia but it probably depends on the total body burden of toxic load for each individual. My view is that we all have the freedom to make our own choices and my prime consideration is that we make educated choices. One study out of many (and wby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan - yes - twice. I just did my usual breathing and calming down mental exercises. No fuss with asking for oxygen. My HR was always extremely high during AF at the onset but would settle down when I settled down so I learned to make it a 'non-event.' Both times, I converted back to NSR before the end of the flight for which I was very grateful. One thing I never do is eat the foby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Doug - the report says it may have to do with how the generic dissolves... and may also be pH dependent in different individuals. One comment was: Dissolution test described in drug approval letter requires a more acidic solution (pH 4.8 instead of pH 6.8) than the USP test for Toprol XL. If the drug dissolves more rapidly than the original, it is possible that blood levels of the generic drugby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Emmette - when I first began my afib journey, I was very tuned in to increasing alkalinity. I offered some posts back in 02 - possibly. I managed well for a while by keeping alkaline through eating a diet that concentrated on alkalizing fruits and vegetables that would offset the acidity produced by eating proteins and grains. The books I read and used as a guide were: Alkalize or Die by Thby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gordon - I recently either read or heard that quality Omega 3's from fish are only found in the wild and salt water, oily fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines. The others apparently are lacking sufficient amounts of EPA and DHA components so that it's not accurate to say eating "fish" provides Omega 3's. Yes - Marc - adjusting my diaphragm (pulling it down into normal position) made a huge difference in afib events and my chiropractor always checked alignment in the cervicals that have direct meridians to the heart. He also always does balancing of the atlas which is overall especially helpful. I highly recommend it. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
That's very well stated, Louise. It's the overload of too many at one time that seems to cause undue burden on underdeveloped immune systems.... and obviously, the preservatives such as mercury and aluminum aren't considered nutrients that enhance health... once in the body, they are difficult to remove without intentionally taking steps to do just that. It's a huge dilemmaby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Heather - your experience just is more proof that we are all experiments of one - depending on biochemical individuality and how certain supplements act on our body chemistry. Some people who are overly acidic will not benefit from adding more acidity and the removal of it will often have a more positive response. Hi Jude - So glad you are doing so well and are afib free. You seem to have found the right combination for you. Keep in mind that a tendency toward pneumonia is common with the use of PPIs. Gastric acidity is 1 defense against ingested pathogens, and there is some evidence that acid-suppressive therapy facilitates nosocomial infections. I recall that Garry Gordon, MD, DO, MD(H), had mentioned something about EDTA suppository delivery - you can go to his website and use the search feature. Wil - my last stint with a monitoring device was for 3 weeks about this time last year. Barb - I was suggesting Dr. Chinitz as an expert in the field who knows when to advise ablation and when not to. Most of the top EPs are not ones to rush into ablation when not needed because they are fully aware that there can be a downside to any procedure. We have discussed generic vs. brand in previous threads. I have commented that one of my patients who was a drug rep always cautioned that it was important when using heart meds to stick with the brand name as there was often too much leeway with generics. Thanks Hans, Peggy and Marian It was important to share some of the relevant info since so many afibbers report associations between digestive issues being contributory or triggers for afib.
