Aldona - Your testimonial is a precious read to me because I remember well all your many struggles. I'm so happy for you it's all in the past and wish you great health for the rest of your life. Special blessings, Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Once again - sucralose is the benign sounding name for Splenda that is a chemically derived sweetner through a chlorinating process. Not healthy. Fructose also has the ability to raise blood sugar and cause insulin problems. The nutrients you think you may be getting are of poor quality and not worth the risk of what else you take in. and you'd have to drink far more to get minor amounby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tricia - All you need to know is that Dr. Natale would not be going anywhere that didn't provide exactly everything he needs to do what he does best....and he can name his ticket anywhere in the world. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'd say it's more likely something in the tablet that causes the event, although some people really can't tolerate magnesium at all in the form of supplements. I would not use that particular form again. Hopefully, you can locate a product labeled appropriately as to what form of magnesium is actually contained. Perhaps it was the maltoextrin as I mentioned in the other post. Sby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dick - that's correct information about the form of niacin....and definitely if the regular niacin is taken, one should be tested regularly for elevated liver enzymes. FWIW, a couple of the doctors here that I queried said ... niacin and Niaspan works for some people; not for others. I recall reading that taking an aspirin 30 minutes before the bedtime dose of Niaspan will help with theby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jerry - I don't consider life that much of a gamble if you do all you can to become informed on preventive health measures that tip the 'gamble' to your favor. It's the ignorant bliss that scares me with many people.....Don't know how the human body works; don't care to know; don't take responsibility for own health; don't want to make healthy choices...anby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
James - unfortunately, it does not tell the ligands used in the chelating process so it tells us nothing, really about the form. Have you tried it yet? Be aware that some people are reactive to Maltodextrin, though. I simply can't imagine why companies persist in putting this into a tablet or capsule. Makes no sense to me unless it is a cheap filler. Any biochemists out there who understby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Jerry - you are wise to be concerned with the warfarin/coumadin dilemma... just be aware that going on coumadin isn't a 100% guarantee that you won't form a clot that could cause MI or stroke. Of primary importance in the tendency for blood to clot (more in some than others) comes the consideration of blood viscosity. Often times the levels of fibrinogen aren't checked or if fby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
In a previous couple of posts, we had discussion about the use of the herb, Ginkgo biloba. Retired neurosurgeon, Russell Blaylock, MD, writes in his Wellness Report (July 2006) that: Ginkgo biloba taken at a higher dosage, is equal to taking one or two aspirin a day in terms of anti-coagulation. He says, This makes it excellent in preventing heart attacks and strokes. FYI I have been taby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dick - I didn't mean to indicate that I recommended the VRP brand, just the article by Barry Tan for info. The best tocotrienols will come from the annatto source and will contain 90% delta-tocotrienol and 10% gamma-tocotrienol... the patent by American River Nutrition might be mentioned on the label. While I am typically anti-beta blocker based on my own negative experience, I can recognize that it may be helpful to keep your HR down a bit to prevent anxiety from mounting should you have another event fairly soon. I agree that long-term use may not be appropriate, especially for vagals but for a few weeks until you find an expert for further assessment, it can be helpful. Often times functional medicine MDs have questionnaires for new patients that list the typical symptoms or complaints patients seem to have and require a yes or no response or a numerical ranking range between Never and Always and points in between. Hi Rob - I'd be wary of any product that contains the regular licorice because of the risk of elevating blood pressure. They must have a reason for including it, probably efficacy, but the deglycyrrhizinated product eliminates that risk and is effective as well. Keep looking. Hopefully you'll find a brand that is acceptable. Here's another great informational article by Dr.by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
One AF contributing factor which isn't mentioned in this discussion is inflammation. Garry Gordon, MD, offers this comment on obesity and reminds of the inflammation link which certainly is promotional to afib as well. Hi Wil and all - I'm late catching up on this thread. What you've outlined sounds entirely reasonable, given that insulin resistance is a precursor to diabetes although it doesn't always progress to diabetes. Sorry that I am so pressed for time I cant give you an appropriate answer to your question. First, the label you quote is certainly inadequate for determining the contents of the magnesium product.
