In addition to the precaution to avoid the fluorinated antibiotics, I wanted to share this alert. A friend had a tender front tooth; endodontist prescribed Clyndamycin and recheck in a week. The recheck indicated no improvement so the dose was increased. Shortly after, friend became very ill with flu-like symptoms and severe diarrhea. Hi Colin - My first thoughts to your question is that blood pressure can be a sign of elevated viscosity but probably only to a relatively minor degree compared to the condition of the arteries which determines whether you are hypertensive or not… if they are plaque filled and stiff, then that drives up blood pressure. Relaxed, soft, clear arteries allow for low or normal blood pressure. Yby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Rita - I would not subject yourself to a procedure and all that entails just to have a flutter ablation. While we don't see many reports of problems, the procedure still is invasive and you endure the aftermath of the chemicals from anesthesia and so on, so my feeling is that if you must have the procedure, then it should be as inclusive as possible. Yum, Gordon! Thanks to your advice years ago on avocados, they are a staple as my potassium food source. I love them with balsamic and sometimes I use lemon or lime juice and a bit of salt. This is a great ORAC source list. Thanks for the link. Jackieby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb - As for the Predictive Biomarker testing... I have that twice a year... and also more frequently if something shows out of range. If that's the case, then I work on what's needed to normalize and then retest. So far, most of the tests are covered by insurance, but not all. In the long run, paying out of pocket is a minor expense compared to the toll of a stroke or MI. Additioby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Good advice Shannon - as salt is definitely not the enemy. It just has to be consumed "with respect" for preserving the proper ratio to potassium... as we've frequently mentioned. John -If you think the potassium is the cause, then go the food-source route as it's always better to use food as a source of potassium. That way you get plenty of other required nutrients and also the beneficial fiber. Reduce your supplemental potassium to much smaller doses and see if that makes a difference.
