If you're taking Vitamin D, it is critical that you consider Vitamin K2 supplementation. Also from a previous post on afibbers forum. This is one of best descriptions of vitamin K2 I have read. This last sentence is very interesting as some forum members wouldn't know how K2, or natto food for that matter, reacts with the latest NOAC's drugs: " The relativeby colindo - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Thanks for the link Gordon, I was offered Allopurinol but as I don't get gout often I didn't accept, I thought it more to do with dehydration than anything. On resuarching gout and Allopurinol i notice it thends to lower uric acid and rise VitD levels, and after reading Steve Carr's posts I am inclined to check my VitD and uric acid levels, take VitD supplements and see how theyby colindo - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Carey, As you point out there is very little viewership in the general health forum. Steve's post and his success should be shouted from the roof tops not hidden away, as you have done. How is he going to get 10 people to try his protocol (which is pretty much harmless) if his posts are hidden away.by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
My last afib event which was about 6 weeks ago coincided with a bout of gout, my uric acid levels were high, I was prescribed naproxen? ....Maybe I should have been given a vitamin D3 level test and given VitD supplement instead ? Was this just a coincidence? On doing some research I found an article from BMJ proving there is a link Note the amount of VitD supplement given "The patby colindo - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Steve, Most of us couldn't change our diet to yours and George's but we can take a vitmin K2 and D supplements. The problem is the vitamin D testing that's required. Testing is quite expensive at $75.00 a pop, so how often and how many of these tests would be required.by colindo - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Steve, Dean, Natto is high in vitamin K2 which has an effect on calcium levels. "An increased intake of vitamin K2 could be a means of lowering calcium-associated health risks." The Vitamin K2 in natto could be one of the factors why some of us are getting relief from our afib burden. Colin Steve, aren't cranberries acidic? Quoteln108 the most interesting take on the vital importance of K2 for cardiovascular health that I've heard in a long time. Hi Lance, That's a great explanation of vitamin K2. No wonder the Japanese are living longer. I take natto every 2nd day which amounts to about 400mgs of K2 and one of the things I noticed when I first started taking natto was my skin seemed smoother and less dry. Of course the most noticeable effect for me has been the reduction of my afib burden. Down from 1 or 2 a month to threeby colindo - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM

Nattokinase is a fibrinolytic enzyme, which means that it has the ability to break down or "degrade" excessive fibrin that our bodies produce when recovering from injuries or other health issues.by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey So your job is to find a step in that cascade of events that you can interrupt to prevent clots from forming, but you can't interrupt it completely or your patient will bleed to death. I think that sounds like the work of an entire research career. This will help. Just curious George, what will you take when you reach 75 years old, have a CHAD score of 2 and low afib burden?by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Safib, I know you and Carey are Natto knockers and what ever I have to say you are going to kick holes in it. I am just offering an alternative viewpoint which I believe is better for our bodies than the current medical view. BTW that study I refer to was done in Japan so you won't find it where you are looking.by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotesafib However, there seems to be no evidence that natto is useful for afib related stroke. In fact, one study shows that a very large dosage of natto is required to achieve the same anticoagulative effect as a standard dosage of aspirin at least in an animal model. This suggests why natto may not be effective against afib, i.e., because it has too weak of an anticoagulant action for afib typby colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteCarey Before having a stroke I would think your blood would be in bad shape and your arteries would be clogged up with calcium and fat etc. Not necessarily. Perfectly healthy young people with pristine arteries can and do suffer strokes. What then causes the stroke? A new water pipe won't block, a rusty one will.by colindo - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteThe Anti-Fib Maybe a Blood viscosity test would help define this? I think a blood sugar test would give you an idea of the condition of your blood, not only could you check your blood sugar levels but you could also see how easily your blood flows out after the prick. Statins made my hips ache, so bad I looked at hip replacement. I discussed with my doctor to try and stop statins for awhile and he agreed.
