Hans, I just renewed subscription for The AFIB report. It's the least I can to keep to help you keep this forum going. Thanks! Post Edited (10-25-10 18:48)by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jackie and Hans, figured as much.by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
I received this email and was wondering if there's any truth to it or Young Again pushing bias to sell their brand?? I use Kaneka Corporation, ubiquinol as was recommended on this forum. Hey Gregg, Nice to hear back from you. Wow a year already, congratulations! I get runs of pacs and pvcs for a couple a days and go back to normal for a week. So right now I just talk my metropolol and experimenting with Multaq on and off to see if I really need it. What I thought was AFIB is just a run of pacs or pvcs which my cardio heard while at his office. Let's see what happens. Goodby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm on Multaq, it seems to be working but I still have episodes, not sure whether theyare pac/pvcs or mild afib.by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Tara-what do you mean by ablation therapy? If you mean an actual ablation may I ask who did it and where?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Wow 10 years of NSR.... impressive I guess some drugs do work. I'm using Multaq but not sure how well its really working. Did you ever consider an ablation to get off the drugs or it's worth staying on them?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
You had no problems for the first 4 or 5 months so what makes you think all of a sudden its the Flec?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Another afibber diagnosed in his early 50's, anyone see a pattern here? 52 seems to be the magic number for some coincidence! I was 52 and so was Dr Arena I believe and quite a few more....................by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
I hear you Doc! You don't need to be in the medical field anymore now the internet at your fingertips gives you so much information. My mom had breast cancer 10 years ago and colon cancer 5 years ago. Both surgeons thought I was a doctor due to my debt of knowledge during the interview process. BTW god forbid but anybody looking for a minimally invasive colorectal surgeon there is none betby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg, Was the ablation procedure that bad that you could handle only once? I understand one is too many but what was it like? As far as my T levels are concerned I'm in the normal range but I was surprised I dropped that much; but then again I was in the upper range to begin with.by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey Dr Greg, What about our Testosterone levels? My free T was 134 at 47yo now it's dropped to 84. Being the same age I'm sure yous has dropped too....any link you think?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Jackie, I thought I had this beast licked with the addition of ribose but after almost 3 1/2 weeks it hit again. Anyway I'm back on full Multaq dose 1 pill 2x daily, and my heart is starting to calm down today. Good point on weight training! I do full body workouts aka circuit training and only 1-2 miles on the tread. However my workouts are non stop for three hours with very heavy weigby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hey GeorgrN, Yes I read this on CPAP.com but the guy who posted it was bashed. Those people over there are nuts when it comes to anything other than CPAP. There was also a couple of studies that people with sleep apnea actaully live longer than those without.by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
So you're Dr Gregg Arena, I remember the MD tag a while back in your posts. I really appreciate your concern and thanks for your time-line. Ive been doing okay sometimes going 2-3 weeks without any afib but last week starting wednesday morning my heart has been either in afib or fluttering. It's never been this uneasy so I'm starting to get concerned. I've been using Multaqby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Actually I still rather be dead if I couldn't exercise! Greg Thanks. I know Dr Patrick Tchou at CC is great EP. There's a Doctor Chinitz here in New York City that I hear is a top EP too. I trying to verify that. Why did you opt for an ablation so soon after being diagnosed? Was your AFIB very symptomatic? Did you have to go to the emergency room? Did you have to be converted? Thaby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
BillB which EP in New York did you consult with?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Gregg, That's what I'm hearing too. To be honest if I had to stop exercising might as well be dead. How old are you and who did your ablation? I'm 53 and this week my AFIB has acted up numerous times this week and getting pacs and pcs at alarming rate. Diagnosed almost 1 year go myself.by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
My cardiologist has recently said the time for ablations as first line treatments is close. So does this EPby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Same here I've been working out since I was 11 years old full bore and at 52 AFIB hit. The last 10 years it's been intense weight lifting and started playing basketball again at 40 in two leagues which I stopped 5 years ago. I smoked and did drugs in between that time Oh well been clean for 12 years now but I was using diet pills. I guess I deserve this. I still haven't stoppedby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
old news the Cleveland clinic is already doing remote control ablationsby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
My Cardio told me they just built a new ablation center in Staten Island so I could go there. In all due respect I told him no way would I go there unless Natale was the EP and he said who? Gregg I too am very active and athletic, my afib acts up every two weeks or so then I deal with pvs pacs a few days before or after each attack. My attacks are minimal maybe heart rate never reaches above 150by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
my ng/dl fell from 698 at 47yo to 509 now at 53. Is this too low? anybody?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM

On DHT it's the evil twin. I've been on propecia then Avodart for hairloss since 97, started Avodart when it was introduced in 02. I'm a weight lifter and I was benching 405 lbs at 49 years old with no DHT in my body due to the use of Avodart. My free T was about 134 at age 47 with barely any DHT. I never used anabolic steroids either. A couple of Olympic athletes were stripped ofby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
My free Testosterone was 134 6 years ago when I was 47. I just got tested and it dropped to 84 6 years later and diagnosed with afib almost 1 year ago. Anyone ever have there free T tested? I need to check if my blood work included my ng/dl levels which I believe it did. Isn't free T a more important marker? Here's an interesting link to baldness and prostate cancer Post Editeby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
All those natural estrogen supplements are worthless and never really get absorbed in the body to work. The only real aromatase blocker is the newer class of estrogen inhibitors like Arimidex end of story. Use it with Avodart to prevent DHT production which is linked to prostate cancer alonfg with estrogen and low T levels. Thanks Lou. I figure he must have well over 1000 ablations under his belt by now!!!!by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks so much. It's good knowing A top tier doc in 10 mins away from meby McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lou I live in New York, is Dr Chinitz a top EP? How many ablations do you think he has under his belt? How does he compare to Natale?by McHale - AFIBBERS FORUM
