Lynn: No one has replied to you, I don't know anything about Dr. schweikert but I do know that Dr. Morady of U.of M. did an ablation on a fellow doctor and the man had complications after the ablation and died, this was about 4 years or so ago. I have no idea how many doctors performing ablations have fatalities, but I guess if I was to have an ablation I would try to see Dr. Natalie.by Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George: The last time I was in Dr. Brownsteins office (he is a holistic doctor) I mentioned I was taking fish oil and he said not to take it, we got to talking about something else and I forgot to ask him why I should not take fish oil. I have an appointment in Sept. with Dr. Brownstein and I will be sure that is a question that I will ask. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
George talks about a diet that he is on that uses ketones, I have been watching Dr. Don Colbert, he says that Alzhemeirs is really insulin resistence of the brain. The brain runs on sugar (glucose) but cannot be taken in when in Alzhemeirs (says Diabetes III of the brain), he puts his patients on a Ketogentic diet. He also says to use a high grade Virgin coconut oil, he has a book on the subjecby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Todd. Spinach has oxalic acid, I eat that without any problems----I do not take a blood thinner, my blood seems to be on the thin side, my C-Reactive protein and my Fibrinogen are good. I don't know if having low platelets are helpful, my platelets test around 136. lab range is 140--400 thousand/ul There are posts that kale can cause some stomach problems, so maybe it isn'tby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
I have a garden and planted some kale, it looked really good and I picked some last night, I washed it and chopped the Kale, added some olive oil to a sauté pan and put in the kale. I had a salad, roast/carrots and my kale. I was fine and after a few hours I went to bed, still felt fine, I woke up about an hour and a half later with stomach cramps (I rarely get those), I had diarreah, I was awoby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Louise: I am surprised that Dr. Natale wouldn't do an ablation as you are in permanent AF. My mother was in permanent AF for about 14 years, she was not on any anti-arrthymatic drugs but did take Coumadin, at about 6 months before she died (at 92) she had black stools, which indicate she was bleeding internally. They didn't want to operate at her age and she also had congestive heaby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie: I take Propafenone, does this drug have any eye problems similar to flec, I have read that you took propafenone instead of flec. so I am assuming that it doesn't, right? Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph: I have never had stomach problems, like you are describing, yet I get AF, I am a vagal afibber as well, lots more to this puzzle. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
As I recall a poster called PC said that the stomach empties better on the left side, perhaps George or Jackie might remember, that doesn't mean that AF won't happen on your left side. I personally, sleep more on my right side I can also sleep on my left but sometimes I can feel my heart beating harder on my left side so I turn over to my right. This doctor says not to take Generic drugs, this article is scary, why in the world can't we make drugs in this country, also our supplements. Dr. Crandall advises taking the brand-name version of medications, not generics, whenever possible. India provides about 40 percent of the generic drugs sold in the U.S. But in recent months the Food and Drug Administration has banned the imby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Ron: Bull, "Afib is simply a result of declining physical health", that is simply not true. A lot of afibbers are very fit, slim, and as a rule eat better than the general public. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Ralph: How much potassium are you taking, perhaps you are getting too much which can lead to palps/afib, it did for me. Lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Afib has always been around, just more in the open now. also, our population has greatly increased. My mother had AF, my aunt, they both died in their 90s, my grandmother had heart problems, I don't know what exactly she had but she died in her 70s of heart failure, so she may very well had AF. This is another article about wheat, I have seen Dr. Perlmutter on T.V. hyping his book, saying that wheat is bad, I think he is just making money and he is another passing looney tune. Dr. Oz is another T.V. doctor that is hyping certain diet pills that he says will help you lose weight, he was before Congress last week and admits that only diet and exercise will lead to weight loss, thaby Elizabeth - GENERAL HEALTH FORUM
Your story is pretty scarcy, hope all will be well for you. About your thyroid, you believe you were misdiagnosed, but you are taking Aminodarone , which has the ability to make you either hypo or hyper. lizby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM
Lisa: In 1993 I was diagnosed with Graves disease (hyperthyroidism), I then had my thyroid nuked, I became hypo. I have been on Synthroid since 93, I don't have a problem with it, I am on 125 mcg./day. I have been stable for a very long time, feel fine, I see Dr. Brownstein twice a year, he is a holistic doctor and has written a book on the Thyroid. Jackie: My brother was never a diabetic, he was healthy for all of his life until the prostrate cancer. As I believe and said many times, some cancers are more vicious, some more benign as with AF. Jackie: From personal experience, not from authors of books, even science what they say today is verbatten tomorrow, my brother was mostly a vegetarian for most of his life, he ate mostly vegetables, eggs, apples, grapes, berries, he did eat a little meat on occasion. I would say his diet would be mostly alkaline, yet he got cancer and died from it. The guy I knew who owned the Health Foby Elizabeth - AFIBBERS FORUM

The paleo diet is always noted as being what our ancestors ate, but really: Despite its name, the Paleo Diet is a new food trend, one which has become increasingly popular in recent years. I have been reading a newsletter called "Health Alert" by Dr. Bruce West, there is an article that is interesting: Dr. West says that "Hucksters in the health world would have you believe that you need to be alkaline and that being too acid is the cause of all diseases. It is a good idea to research some of these doctors that Jackie wants us to believe in: I remember not too many years ago eggs were bad, fats were bad, meat was bad, now they are good for you----now we have grains as being bad, oh yes, especially GMO foods, well in a few years we will see. In my readings on this site, most of the women that have had ablations do not fare so well, they appear to have more problems and a longer period of getting better.
