Hi Smackman. Don't worry about it, you are in the chute now and heading for an April landing soon. 80 bpm is nothing to worry about even if it was AFIB. that is a level many people with persistent AFIB aspire too as an ideal level using rate control drugs and they hope to stay there! That's not my idea of a good long term status, but still even if you were in that the next two monthsby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
I do have persistent AFIB. I have always had to be cardio verted electrically. I have been shocked 3 times into NSR. I have no idea how long I was in AFIB when I was found with it in Dec. 2011 at a regular physical. I went for a regular physical in Dec. 2011; I was found to hbe in AFIB. I had to be electricallly cardioverted 3 months later. 18 months later , I went back into AFIB; once again Iby smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thanks Jackie, I know you are a huge supporter of supplements. Wouldn't it be great to have scientific proof that Mg to bowel tolerance plus K or whatever the protocol is actually makes a difference for most affibers. I can imagine that for some the very idea that taking Mg will resolve their arrythmia could help reduce anxiety which in turn could reduce ectopy. I have no doubt that forby Mikej - AFIBBERS FORUM

Forget the typical stats with Natale doing the work Smackman, While most persistent Afibbers will need one index ablation by a true expert like Dr N plus one more targeted touch up at some point to really get this behind you for the long term, he and his group have been getting increasingly more 'one and done's' even among persistent cases like yours. I have been in NSR for 2 months after my last Electrical Cardio Version. Before that I lasted 1 month; The 1st lasted 18 months. I have come to the conclusion that Anxiety/fear etc is a big trigger for me. I currently take 3 mg of Ativan a day for Anxiety. I was found with AFIB in Dec. 2011 at a routine yearly physical. Who knows how long I had been in AFIB before the physical? I expect appby smackman - AFIBBERS FORUM
Barb, thanks. Re your question about how often afib before flec: I started flec Jan 2006. In 2005, I had 92 episodes averaging 6.8 hours duration. Pretty bad, but back then I hadn't taken advantage of all this website has to offer (hint to newcomers: don't wait like I did), and also I had unmanaged anxiety about my afib which most definitely exacerbated the condition. - Randyby Randy - AFIBBERS FORUM

Hi Smackman, Good to here you heard from Barbara , I felt sure the referral thing wouldn't be a problem. McHale got very lucky in getting his ablation the very same day as his first consult with Dr Natale because it was the very first week Dr N was working out of St Luke's in NYC back last May and McHale was smart and jumped quickly on an early tip that Dr N was going to be doingby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM

I go back to my Cardiologist Dec. 11 for a follow up after my Cardioversion 3 weeks ago; I will ask him about Dr. Natale and try and get a referral from him. Hello to all. I am a 55 year old man who has Persistent AFIB. I went for a routine physical in Dec. 2011 and was in the Hospital 2 hours later with AFIB. I gave EFT/tapping a try when I started having PAC's that progressed right into a brief run of afib. It took a few rounds of tapping, but it worked for me. Anything to avoid a run to the ED and all the hassles and anxiety that come with it. I can't say it aborted the afib run (or maybe it did), but it sure helped. Hans - I do recall that portion of your book. I'm not saying it will help reverse afib...... but definitely helps to reduce anxiety and stress that accompanies Afib. Many afibbers generate a significant amount of anxiety with the least little blip or extra couple of beats which can then help propel into the next level. Tom. I always ask for the numbing agent that they give to heart patients if I need to have dental work done. It doesn't last as long but I have never needed a second dose. Debbie - Definitely, consider that hypoglycemia could be your 3 am problem. That was one of my very earliest signs when I first had the AF onset. My fasting glucose was okay but the fasting insulin after the post prandial meal told the true story. I used the glucometer and went on the low carb diet just as George describes.
