Steve - I should have mentioned that beta blockers deplete magnesium so even though your dose is relatively small, it could be a large influence in your ongoing anxiety esp. if you are already low in magnesium. Additionally, everyone should take a good B complex. This same teleconference emphasized the fact that they are noting severe deficiencies of all the B's because so much stress isby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve - I'm sorry to hear the anxiety is still with you. I recently heard a teleconference on the topic of nutrients that are depleted by drugs. During the discussion on drugs that deplete magnesium, it was stated that people who have anxiety, fear, depression are all found to typically be deficient in magnesium. Consider that you may be low in magnesium, possibly very low, because stby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
OK Steve. It is time for some tough love. This is just ridiculous. You are better off than 99.9% of the entire world population. If I read this one more time I an going to personallt show up at your house and force feed you magnesium glycinate, taurine and potassim in a gallon of prune juice just to get your mind off a few stray beats.by Howie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve: Did you have anxiety before you got afib? If so its no surprise that you have it now. I think most all of us who have found a way back to NSR keep wondering if and when the fib will return, and we sholdn't be surprised about that. It helps me, and I've been in NSR for nearly 4 years now, to remember that afib is not the end of the world, and having had it previously I'mby Gordon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Steve Sorry to hear that you are still anxious about the possibility of afib returning. I have my moments but generally have been able to let go of the worry by accepting that worry does not help (and likely hurts) and because I now know that I have options...I can get another ablation if need be. I find that taking potassium and magnesium "settle" my heart down and have increased myby Cyndie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Sorry to hear you are still feeling anxious after almost a year. Sounds like you've been doing really well with the NSR so far. I can relate to the anxiety issue. I've been having a lot of ectopic beats for the last couple of weeks for some reason and it's making me very anxious which is probably going to end up in an afib attack if I don't relax! Every little odd beat gets meby Sue - AFIBBERS FORUM
LAST aug 1st i had an ablation and so far have been in nsr since. I am off all the drugs with exception of toprol 25mg a day. However, I still worry and suffer from anxiety at times. If i feel a little movement or whatever in chest my heart rate goes up and i get anxious. It is incredible. its like the beast is still there and is attacking. Has anyone else had this problem or concern also.by steve Daley - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jackie; I'm taking the Dr's Best mag gly from here. I take 100mg 3 x a day. I have tried increasing the amt and always end up with bowel issues. I am having diarrhea today because I took an extra tablet last night. I don't know why I can't get above that amt. I do have epsom salts and will take an occasional bath- don't know how much that helps, I don't noticeby Sheila - AFIBBERS FORUM
Shelia, anxiety is certainly a tool for many of us on the board. However, in the past my afib (caused by anxiety) usually showed up a few days later early in the morning, but I could usually trace it to a stressful event, which I try to avoid at all cost. But, the mind can overcome with anxiety when you are fearful of an afib episode while being away from the safety of your home surroundings. I uby Sharon Glass - AFIBBERS FORUM
I am finding that anxiety is playing a large part in my afib episodes. We just got home from a three day get away and I was so anxious I was going to have afib I practically brought it on myself. I have been taking the L theanine on occasion when I felt particularly stressed or knew I was going to be in a stressful situation and it has helped. Now I'm beginning to wonder if I should be takby Sheila - AFIBBERS FORUM

Further to this explanation, in the latest Blaylock Wellness report, Dr. Blaylock comments on people who develop reactive hypoglycemia from years of eating a diet containing high glycemic carbohydrates from food and drinks. He says the pancreas gradually becomes more sensitive so the periods of hypoglycemia occur more frequently and with greater severity. The most common symptoms are weakness,by Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Jeff, When i got afib i had panic and anxiety and still have it but its seems milder. I would just build up my confidence and then i would get another attack and be back at stage 1. psychological aspects are a big thing with afib i think.by steve Daley - AFIBBERS FORUM
I'm sure others will comment on how useless digoxin may be and suggest you see a cardiologist who is an elecrrophysiologist (EP) as well as start taking potassium, taurine and magnesium glycinate. I would stop coffee which caused palpitations for me which eventually became Afib. I would also tale B-complex which stopped that feeling of anxiety like I might faint. Pat - I'm terribly sorry to learn of your husband's illness. I can certainly see how you are very stressed. You must address the adrenal burnout issue. Debbie - as the information at the many links on that website indicates, you can't effectively self-treat and you can't treat with just one amino acid.. their success is the high combo doses they have worked out with the science to back it up. The big problem with this class of drugs, be they SSRI, SDRI or SNRI reuptake inhibitors for serotonin, dopamine or norephinephrine, is that they can NEVER address either the fundamental lack and deficit of one of more of these master neurotransmitters and/or the bundle damage present in the neuronal receptors that require an even larger amount than ‘normal’ levels of these neurotransmitters to rby Shannon - AFIBBERS FORUM
I have been using the very inexpensive mg citrate bowel prep sold by rite aid, walmart, and other chain stores. Debbie - one of our periodic afib posters, George Eby, has a website and when I originally found him, it was by tracking the benefits of magnesium. The last few years I have suffered with several bouts of anxiety and mild depression. Most of these bouts were caused by some difficult life circumstances but I tend to overreact. Robin - I hope you had a fun reunion with your buddies. My past experience with similar situations were the same as yours; anxiety, stress, etc lead to more ectopy and for me, outright afib. Nikki - welcome. Very sorry about your husband and friend. Stress certainly drives afib - at least does for me.
