Hopefully, last question. Has anyone had to deal with a lot of anxiety. Is it a detriment to afib. Is it possible to deal with afib if you are fighting anxiety (non-medicated). I have heard that anxiety and afib are closely related.by Geocappy - AFIBBERS FORUM
I was in AFib for about 20ish hours i think it was. I was stuck in the ER until their was room in the hospital. The cardiologist had to make a special trip to see me the next day in the ER. Once he saw me, they adjusted my meds (beta blocker metoprolol tartrate) and like two hours later, i went into sinus rhythm. It makes me wonder if he saw me earlier. Maybe I would have gotten back to normal sby adamh - AFIBBERS FORUM
since your a firefighter, wouldn't the stress of the job be a possible trigger? Isn't it like some crazy high percentage for firefighters die from heart attacks yearly? so far, my cardiologist has diagnosed me with lone AFib, i think the biggest battle for me so far has been the anxiety. (my first and only AFib was Jan 11th 2022, and i'm 48.) Maybe that is what you are dealing wby adamh - AFIBBERS FORUM
Quotetallguy31 Hello everyone. I haven’t posted here in awhile so let me tell you my story (I’ll try and make it brief) When I was in my 40s, about once a year I was having long episodes of atrial fibrillation. Flash forward to 2019 and I’m 54 years old- the episodes are more frequent and more debilitating. August 2019 I have my first ablation. Didn’t take. November 2020 I have second aby Pompon - AFIBBERS FORUM
Thank you all again for all the responses. Got to see the cardio doctor earlier than planned on Tuesday. I am off the blood thinners and now take a daily aspirin instead. I just take Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg twice daily. I got the all clear to exercise; via cardio and weight training. He just said to no push to hard for a little while at least. QuoteTweez Hi Pompon, What do you take for your vagal Afib? How often do you have them? Are you on blood thinners? ( I’m not) it’s another worry for me as I don’t really want to have them as the only one I can take is warfarin. My CHADS score is 0 currently. I do worry about the future. Tweez. Hi, I’m hoping someone might know what is happening. Background: I am in the Uk and have written before about not coping very well with my paroxysmal A fib diagnosis since Sept after being out on a monitor in A&E. I’d suffered with ‘attacks’ for approx 10 years without diagnosis, but due to anxiety this year they became more frequent, I am currently on bisoprolol 2.25 mg for it. They come out the sea very pink, but happy. I’m not sure if I am brave enough. s I looked up the hsCRP & CRP tests, the CRP starts at 10 and goes up. hsCRP range is 0.5 to 10. So yours is hsCRP. Hi Kevin, I had my first episode a few weeks before you. On the night of my first vaccine. Sure the timing is hard to ignore and since then not one doctor has found it equally suspicious, but who knows. I was on a monitor at the time so I was having palpitations a couple weeks prior. Anyway, people here have a lot of insight, so take advantage. I had an ablation in October and am off Amiodaroby Thelonious71 - AFIBBERS FORUM
QuoteTweez How would I be best reducing my C reactive protein level to 1? Hi Tweez, the issue with CRP (I assume it is high sensitivity CRP?), is that it is a non-specific marker of inflammation. It can be lots of things, dental health, a dental procedure before the test, an illness before the test, autoimmune issues, and yes has been associated with anxiety. Hi George, I am trying to keep all my blood test scores within a certain level in preparation for coming off Bisoprolol. My C reactive protein level was 2 in October but 1 in August. I have been severely anxious about my paroxysmal Afib, currently controlled with Bisoprolol.Do you think stress and anxiety could be causing this as I’m aware I need to get it back to 1 as quickly as possible? Hi Susan, Thankyou for coming back. I stopped drinking any alcohol ( and also caffeine) in July this year after I first had my anxiety issues and I unfortunately still had attacks monthly until September, when I was first put on the bisoprolol. I am going to slowly withdraw again from the bisoprolol due to the tinnitus, the way it makes me feel like a zombie - and the lack of good sleep,by Tweez - AFIBBERS FORUM
Anxiety drains your magnesium stores, and a deficiency of magnesium, which 80% of the population has, causes anxiety. Take as much magnesium per day as you can without getting a loose bowel movement. If that happens take a little less the next day until you are normal. If stool is too loose, you will be spilling your magnesium and be worse off! that happened to me before I found this websitby LaniB - AFIBBERS FORUM
Hi Kevin, I am a 56 year old female and joined this forum just this week. I am recently diagnosed with paroxysmal Afib after experiencing attacks intermittently over past 10 years. My 2 cents: off the top i was encouraged that you looked at ablation. 6 months is fairly far out. Were i you as its not that far id look into going to Bordeaux FR. Elite reputation.
