Just found this statement on Taurine while looking for something else L-taurine helps support proper heart function by normalizing potassium flow in and out of the heart muscle and aiding in free radical elimination. Theo: There is an interesting side issue that provides an adjunct view of the study. Many men who try to control their anger or anxiety do it through exercise . But that sort of channeling may not bring resolution to their emotional turmoil and we tend to increase our exercise regimen.Their is a higher percentage of lone afib amongst the highly montivated exercise group. Richard, No I didn't take the atenolol for high BP, it was for mild anxiety. My "then" GP said I have several people that have mild anxiety who have benefited from a low dose of beta-blockers. So not knowing, I said....sure, I'll try it. So I started to take 25mg of atenolol daily. Not long after that, I began to get what I now know to be pacs/pvcs/split peas/eieio'by Marshal - AFIBBERS FORUM
Yes they were all natural births too.Whilst in labour the midwife said to me " you have an irregular heartbeat" but said not to worry about it!!! Many ladies on here have said that they too were also diognosed as having anxiety/panic attacks when all along it was afib!!! Marian, Very interesting indeed; thanks for sharing. I've gotten to know a bit about ECG's and can identify my "lead II" rhythms very well (NSR, flutter, fib, PAC's PVC's, VT) as I always request a copy of every ECG or monitor strip. I also have found it gives reassurance and peace of mind rather than anxiety, so feel this is a very useful tool. Just after my AFib ablation 2 mos. ago, (so far soby Anton - AFIBBERS FORUM
Dear afib friends, Three days ago, I went into A-Fib/Flutter at 4:30 p.m. on the way home from work. As soon as I hit the door, I powered up my new ActiveECG for Palm OS handhelds, connected the three leads to my chest, and began monitoring this very unwelcome event. I recorded four 30second rhythm strips, and two more at 7:00 p.m. when I converted to NSR. Of course, during this 2 ½ hours, I tooby Marian from Miami - AFIBBERS FORUM
David - B vitamins - when you have neurological complications, saturate with B vitamins....try a B-complex and if you can find it, one with Coenzyme B vitamins. These do not require the usual conversion by the liver but are directly transported to their action sites. This enables the body to use the coenzyme B vitamins more efficiently this lower potencies are needed for energy production. Herby Jackie - AFIBBERS FORUM
Susan I am so sorry you are feeling bad. I am thinking that you are experiencing what I did...anxiety....that hollow feeling and your words echo that you are perhaps needing some help. Dont be afraid to seek professional help.. I had severe anxiety associated with my afib and that was one reason that I took the ablation route. It was driving me crazy. Hi Chris, What an awful experience for you. FYI, my cardiologist uses 300 joules but only once and if that doesn't work, she does not continue to try to cardiovert. About remodeling, I was in continuous afib for 3 years (24/7) following about 3 years of intermisstent attacks (i.e. paroxysmal afib). Dr. Natale said that he has the same success rate with chronic and paroxysmal afib. Iby Lynn - AFIBBERS FORUM
Richard, I just now read your response to my post on Thursday, March 25, concerning a 'small' hiatal hernia I have had for several years. No I don't know if it is in the area of my heart. I assumed a hiatal hernia was in the area of the junction of the esophagus and stomach. Yes I still feel pressure from bloating and gas. Hello, all Yesteray, I finally found an excellent chiropractor/ kinesiologist, who appears to have pulled my diaphragm and stomach into the correct position. He really knew his business. I slept deeply for 9 hours last night without a single sign of any kind of extra beats or afib - even turning on my left side, etc. The few times I woke up, I was surprised to find that I wasn't experby Carol A. - AFIBBERS FORUM
Richard, Sorry to say, that even at 800 mg. of mag. glycinate, with taurine taken separately, I am on this cyclical , every three nights, pattern of afib. I found that 800 was as high as I could go. Yes, I had initial relief from afib by taking magnesium and I thought that I was "home free" like Michael of San Francisco, who first told of his success with magnesium. Interesting. Though I must say when I was in the throws of terrible paroxsymal AF, it was the AF itself that made me emotional and less likely to deal with it, than any emotion triggering the AF - I never did draw this conclusion or see any connection with emotion creating AF.. I know what you meam I have been in afib all my life. I can get scary but the key is to relax. It will only ruin your life if you let it. It is unpredictable and that adds to your anxiety. Hi Tom: I also have GERD but it doesn't trigger afib for me. It seems that it does in most people who have the afib propensity and also have GERD. Could you describe your episodes a little better? Jackie, sorry not to get back to everyone--our internet at home has been out, thinks to Mr. Adelphia. The weekend was good--no afib since Friday morning, for a very short time, and today is Monday. Are you pacing yourself through the day or going from one activity to another without a break? Are you giving your ANS a break or pushing it? Also, afib begets afib, because when we have an episode, on one level or another the anxiety factor enters into the equation. Carolby Carol - AFIBBERS FORUM
For the first time, yesterday when I was visiting my EP, he talked about my afib being adrenergic. I never knew which it was. All I knew was I had afib and the resulting suffering that it entails. Caroll , I don' t fully agree on the subject of "doing nothing" as you're desribing it . Doing nothing has nothing to do with unstressed situation or relaxation time . Susan, it sounds like you are relatively fine, compared to many here. Susan: According to your holter, what you are having are isolated ectopics, or at the most short (10 second) bursts of SVT or PAT. It seems to me that your greatest problem is your anxiety level.
